Cocopeat is the base of most container and seed-starting mixes: it holds water without going airless, and it keeps a pot from compacting the way garden soil does under repeated watering. It is close to nutrient-free on its own, so treat it as structure rather than food and mix compost through it. Soak before use — it expands to many times its packed volume.

Yes — unused and in its original packaging, within seven days. Soil, compost and opened consumables are the exception; once a bag is open we cannot resell it.
